Facebook vs Macspace: integrity within contradictions
Facebook vs Macspace: integrity within contradictions
Well, now when we are lucky to witness the blossom of social media variety, some may put the question to themselves about usefulness anf relevance of these networks, and moreover – which of communities is worth of taking alliance with and where could one get prompt and reliable advices in concern to theirs field of interest?
Okay, presume you’re the Apple goer and have popped up idea to drop the line to the same-allured fans. Once you’ve heard – read, simply googled the internet and have found – about Facebook and some Mac Space. What to choose? Where to mingle in? Below I’ll try to spotlight and compare main traits of mentioned above two networks.
There is a great abyss lying between Facebook and Mac Space – from dimentions of users’ audience to its heterogeneity to functionality to purposes.
Facebook is the world’s largest social network with over 400 million users and in a wide sense everything for everybody. Grown from the students’ community it had gained its renown trough the oportunity to upload photographs and endow you personal online life-book literally with your face. But do we all really need to know everything? Or can we easily find the information specific to our personal needs?
The Mac Space social was premeditatedly devised aiming at Apple product users and covers 268 registered participants nowadays as it has been checked out on 26 May 2010. The Mac Space compared to Facebook is so-called niche community with distinctly restricted cohort of users to those who like and have Mac, iPod, iPhone, etc. Similarly to FaceBook The Mac Space allows members to create their own personal profiles, interact with other members, create personal blogs, read informative product reviews, and more. In addition they claimed, that they are independent provider of information about Apple technologies and related products, neither affiliated with Apple Computer, Inc., nor backed by some major venture capitalist company, but Mac enthusiasts solely who found each other online and discovered they share a passion for the Mac platform and all related products. The only query is, will you trust entirely people who you haven’t ever speak to before and who knows, probably someone of regular users is the special Apple agent in disguise?
Thus if your passion to Apple commodities occupies all your vital intentions then go for it, and you’ll be secured from being overwhelmed with messages, and granted with choice to seek what you’re actually want to know… albeit missing news from other you friends who don’t share your Apple’s preferences. But hey, you should always feel free to set up Facebook profile yet and pick up all your real-life friends. Moreover if one had taken an attemp to surf Facebook they would find out 51 pages, over 500 groups and the lots of posts’ results connected to the subject (Though the biggest group I’ve seen there is named ‘I hate Apple’ and covers more than 5500 devotees, I’m shure the other, truly loyal, non-ironical and usefull its counterparts would be indeed discovered on Facebook. You can try it on your own and see where it comes).
Anyway whatever the internet presence (or several of them, viz: of specific or common audience base) you incline to immerse in you have to keep in mind that not only environment determines your ROI of spending time on social media, but mostly the way you do this. But it’s the separate theme to be pondered over. Have your time with drawing the best decisions!
